Welcome to SpotPOTS
SpotPOTS is a tool which helps users test and learn about Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, or POTS. We offer a guided 10-minute Stand Test and provide results based on your inputs. These results can be shared with your provider for further evaluation and formal testing and diagnosis.
How it works
The stand test you're about to take is meant to give you information to share with your healthcare provider and serve as a starting point to evaluate your symptoms and, if necessary, start a thorough diagnostic process.
Stand Test
You'll lie flat for 5 minutes and then stand for 10 minutes while keeping track of your heart rate.
Results
We'll give you your results and information about POTS and help you understand what it means.
Take Action
Use your results to start a discussion about your symptoms and, if needed, a formal diagnosis.
What's POTS?
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, or POTS, is a condition where the autonomic nervous system is dysfunctional. It's characterized by a heart rate increase of 30 beats per minute or more (40 bpm in children and teens) and/or a heart rate above 120 bpm within the first 10 minutes of standing in the absence of orthostatic hypotension.
Laying: Resting Heart Rate
Standing: Heart Rate Increase of 30+ BPM or Above 120 BPM
About
SpotPOTS helps patients and medical providers identify and diagnose POTS faster and easier.
SpotPOTS was designed by a collaborative group of medical providers, patients, researchers, and developers to help identify if POTS could be a possible cause for symptoms that a user may be experiencing.
We wanted to provide hard data and information to medical providers and users which may help lead to getting a formal diagnosis. As POTS can often be difficult to recognize, we hope this tool will hopefully help identify, test for, and learn more about POTS.
